NSC, 100PLUS Renew Sponsorship for Three More Years

KUALA LUMPUR (21 January 2013) – The National Sports Council and 100PLUS, Malaysia’s No.1 isotonic beverage, signed a Memorandum of Understanding today to extend their partnership for a further three years. The sponsorship deal begins this year and will expire in 2015.
NSC and 100PLUS have been working together since 2000, making this one of the longest sponsorship deals for 100PLUS in the country.
“It has been more than a decade since we signed our first agreement with the NSC. By the time this deal expires, it would be 16-years of collaboration. It has been a tremendous partnership which I hope will continue well beyond 2015,” said Mr Khalid Alvi, Managing Director, F&N Beverages Marketing Sdn Bhd at the MOU Signing Ceremony here today. “I would like to thank the NSC for their unwavering support all these years.”
Dato’ Sri Ahmad Shabery Cheek, Minister of Youth and Sports, was present to witness the signing of the MOU. Dato’ Seri Zolkples Embong signed on behalf of the National Sports Council while En Khalid represented F&N Beverages Marketing Sdn Bhd.
Also present at today’s signing ceremony were Ms Jenny Wong, Assistant General Manager Brand Marketing, F&N Limited, and Ms Cariessa Goh, Corporate Affairs Manager, F&N Beverages Marketing Sdn Bhd.
“We have worked very well with 100PLUS over the years and we look forward to extending our partnership for three more years. The partnership has been complementary as both sides have benefitted from this sponsorship,” said Dato’s Seri Zolkples. “I would like to thank 100PLUS for their continuous support to NSC and Malaysian sports in general.”
Through this sponsorship deal, 100PLUS will continue to be the Recommended Drink of the NSC. The NSC logo will also appear on all 100PLUS products. In addition to the cash sponsorship, 100PLUS will also provide products for the various NSC activities and programmes involving the national athletes.
Among the many events 100PLUS has worked closely with the Ministry of Youth and Sports and NSC over the years includes the now annually held Sukan Malaysia or SUKMA as it is popularly known. This year, NSC will take over the host duties and 100PLUS will be on hand again to support the multi-sports event.
100PLUS also continues to support junior development programmes like the Ministry of Education Football League, the 100PLUS Super Cup Under-18, the 100PLUS National Junior Badminton Circuit, 100PLUS National Inter-State Junior Championships and the 100PLUS Malaysian Junior Open Golf.
On the international front, 100PLUS supported events like the Maybank Malaysian Open Badminton, Malaysian GP Gold Badminton, Malaysian Open Golf, KL International Marathon, CIMB Classic PGA Tour, Malaysian ATP Tennis and several others.
100PLUS is also a strong supporter of Malaysian athletes and currently have Olympic medalists, Datuk Lee Chong Wei and Pandelela Rinong, and also national football players, Safee Sali, Khairul Fahmi and Safiq Rahim as 100PLUS Brand Ambassadors.
