Former champions SMK Anderson of Perak outplayed Kuala Lumpur’s SMK Victoria 3-0 today to regain the 100PLUS Super Cup Champions School title.

The Ipoh school were winners of the tournament in 2004 and 2008.

Muhammad Ikmal Abd Rahim (12th), Harris Roslee (27th) and Muhammad Firdaus Saiyadi (47th) were Anderson’s goal scorers.

“I’m very happy as this is the third time we have won the Cup,” said Anderson coach Mohd Badrul Abd Majid.

“I hope our players will go further like  Muhamad Syazwan (Zaipol Bahari), who is already playing for Harimau Muda C.

“Would also thank 100PLUS for organising such a great tournament and giving our boys exposure to top level competition.”

Victoria head coach, Mohd Yusof Mohd Ali, said: “The boys worked hard to reach the final. We will come back stronger next year.”

Anderson had reached the final after beating SMK Sultan Abu Bakar of Pahang 2-0 yesterday, while Victoria edged Negri Sembilan’s SMK Tunku Ampuan Durah 1-0 in their semi-final.

The 100PLUS Super Cup and the Minister of Education League Cup (MELC) are among several youth programmes and competitions supported by 100PLUS, Malaysia’s leading isotonic beverage.

The others include the 100PLUS Malaysian Junior Golf Open and the 100PLUS National Junior Badminton Circuit.

100PLUS is recommended by the National Sports Council.
