F&N Beverages fetes 60
residents to a Chinese New Year luncheon

Ipoh, Perak – A delectable spread of Chinese cuisine, mandarin oranges and an array of F&N favourites greeted 60 residents of Persatuan Kebajikan Warga Tua Seri Bahagia, putting a smile on each face as they welcomed the New Year with friends from F&N Beverages Marketing Sdn Bhd.

The Chinese New Year luncheon at the home in Jalan Gopeng, Ipoh was part of F&N Beverages’ annual Corporate Social Responsibility initiative which has been organised by the country’s leading soft drinks manufacturer for the past 14 years.

A playful lion dance performance kicked off the celebration along with thundering sounds of drums, cymbals and gongs, ushering luck and good fortunate among residents. Then, one by one, the residents excitedly took turns to belt out their favourite oldies through a karaoke session, courtesy of F&N Beverages. Singing and dancing filled the home as karaoke became a hit among the residents.

After much excitement, residents and guests were treated to a sumptuous feast, complete with the traditional yee sang tossing.  F&N employees also distributed ang pows and goody bags filled with F&N products, mandarin oranges and essential items to all residents.

Speaking at the luncheon, Mr. Chen Vong Fuei, Sales Manager – Ipoh, F&N Beverages said that the visit to the home was a meaningful one for them as they were able to understand the hardships faced by the residents and do their bit to spread the joy of the New Year.

“Chinese New Year draws families together and it is also an important time for the younger generation to honour their elders. Unfortunately, not all the residents will be able to spend it with their families this year nor will they be able to participate in the traditions. Therefore, we hope this simple celebration helps liven up their spirits and make the festivity come alive for them,” he added.

Chen also presented Persatuan Kebajikan Warga Tua Seri Bahagia with essential items such as food supplies, toiletries and other gifts.

Persatuan Kebajikan Warga Tua Seri Bahagia takes in Chinese senior citizens who lack the means to support or care for themselves. The home currently shelters 58 residents aged between66 to 90  years old, with the help of eight assistants.

For this year’s Chinese New Year celebrations, F&N Beverages also visited Home of Love old folks home in Kuching, Sarawak.
