F&N Beverages Engages Asrama Yayasan Saad Children in Leadership Programme

F&N Beverages Marketing Sdn. Bhd. brought joy and excitement to 24 children from Asrama Yayasan Saad, Perlis, during a two-day team building programme held in Kangar recently.

The children ranging from the age of 10 to 17 years old, most of whom come from underprivileged families, completed the two-day programme, which aims at encouraging team work, strategic planning, character building, as well instilling in them with self-confidence as potential leaders.

The programme held in conjunction with the beginning of the mid-year school holidays, kicked-off with ‘Leadership Launch’, a segment which brought awareness of recognising one’s own values and traits, which is the foundation to determine one’s capacity in becoming a leader.

Other segments in the programme also included ‘Who am I?’ which aimed to infuse self awareness, and Light Up Your World’ simulation activity, which
taught the children onresource management, team work, and strategic thinking through a crisis situation simulation, as well as decision making, and remodelling their strategies in becoming a winning team.

Amazing Race’ around the town of Kangar added the exhilaration within the children, where among challenges given required the participants to interact with local shopkeepers to better understand the community surrounding them. The race aimed ftowards promoting awareness on the importance of playing a responsible role as a part of a larger community and in contributing to the success of their community.

 

    

The children were also given the opportunity to prepare their own meal and experience a barbeque dinner for the very first time. In planning and carrying out the whole leadership activities line-up in the programme, F&N Beverages collaborated with Leaderonomics, which is a renowned training and development agency.

Cariessa Goh, Corporate Affairs Manager of F&N Beverages said, “We are equally excited as the children who participated in the programme. Children of Asrama Yayasan Saad are no stranger to us, as this is already the second year that we have organised the leadership programme for them. This is our little contribution to the community and at the same time accomplishes our goal in CSR, which is to provide conducive
educational programmes, especially to those who are underprivileged.

F&N Beverages has been engaged with Asrama Yayasan Saad as one of the organisations to benefit from their sustainable CSR programmes, which include the Sudut Iqra; an initiative to inculcate children with the love of reading by providing library set-ups and books to a few schools located in rural locations.
