F&N Beverages Fulfills the Wishes of Children from Rumah K.I.D.S

Prior to the Carnival, employees of F&N Beverages were invited to sponsor a gift from the children’s wishlists, which had been compiled by the children and sent to F&N Beverages earlier in November. The encouraging response from F&N Beverages’ staff ensured that every child received their desired gifts.
“Christmas is a magical time of year for many, a time when families get together in the spirit of generosity and harmony,” said Cariessa Goh, Corporate Affairs Manager for F&N Beverages Marketing. “We are once again happy to be able to bring the joy of Christmas to underprivileged children in the community in line with our CSR efforts during the festive seasons.”
The Christmas Charity Carnival also marked the first time that such an event was held in F&N Beverages’ Shah Alam premises. “We decided to hold the event in our premises this year as we wanted to take the children on a supervised tour of the plant and let them learn about how some of their favourite drinks are made,” said Cariessa. “The children were excited with the tour!”
Following the tour, the children were brought back to the administration block, where they got to meet Santa and Santarina and participated in a series of Christmas and winter-themed games, filling the office complex with the sounds of nativity and celebration.
“F&N is truly a brand that shares close ties with the community, even more so during festive celebrations,” said Khalid Alvi, Managing Director at F&N Beverages Marketing during his welcome address. “Embodying the Group’s “Pure Enjoyment, Pure Goodness” philosophy, F&N will continue with this tradition of giving back to society for many more years to come.”
Despite all the fun the children were having, they probably could not take their minds off the presents, which were laid out on the stage around the glittering Christmas tree. Finally, the big moment came – the presentation of gifts. Sponsors were on hand to present their gifts to the children, complete with a photo captured on Polaroid for that nostalgic touch.
Once the presents were given out and safely stored, the children were led outside where several carnival booths had been prepared, offering a variety of Christmas-themed carnival games. A scrumptious lunch followed and then it was time for the children to head back to Rumah KIDS, laden with presents and the memories of their day at F&N Beverages.
Accompanying the children were their House Parents, Mr and Mrs Davies of Rumah KIDS Subang Jaya. “We worked with F&N Beverages earlier this year to send the kids for a team-building excursion to Malacca. We are grateful to F&N Beverages for choosing to work with us once again for this important time of year,” said Mr Davies.
As for the children, it was an unforgettable day. “I enjoyed lunch and was excited to see Santa Claus! Also thank you for the wonderful presents,” said Malathy, age 7.
For 11-year old Edward, the Christmas party, which he described as “the best ever!” will always be memorable, with hopes that the new friends from F&N Beverages would visit them once again.
Started in 1991 in Klang, Rumah Kanak-kanak Ini Di Sayangi (K.I.D.S) is a home where orphans and children who are abandoned, abused and neglected are given shelter, love and care. The home has housed many children with traumatic early childhoods. Many of these children did not experience love until they were cared for and had the chance to live in a “family setting” with “brothers and sisters”, under the care and guidance of House Parents.
